Blackwood

Following Mary and David, a mother and her son, BLACKWOOD is a comedy-drama set in small-town Australia, intertwining spoken word with traditional narrative form to explore the intricacies of family, self-love and empowerment, and more subtly the social politics that exist within Australia. Director Kalu Oji made this short film on the land of the Dja-Dja-Wurrung people and allows the oral culture of the Aborigines to become part of the plot.
